В настоящее время исключение я получаю: System.Data.Entity.Internal.AppConfig (к сожалению, нет никакого реального StackTrace) и старое исключение, которое я получал был:

В вашем app.config попробуйте заменить эту строку:

<defaultConnectionFactory type="System.Data.Entity.Infrastructure.LocalDbConnectionFactory, EntityFramework"> 

с этой линией:
