Xcode 4.3.x перешли от GCC как компилятор. Теперь Apple использует llvm. Возможно, это корень вашей проблемы. Существует проект Github https://github.com/kennethreitz/osx-gcc-installer/downloads, который позволит вам скачать gcc-компилятор.

Чтобы указать gcc-компилятор, вам может потребоваться указать команду вашего пива env CC=/usr/bin/gcc.
