В соответствии с Майком в комментариях предложил, что, вероятно, было что-то не так с тем, как проект строится, в связи с этим:

Caused by: java.lang.ClassNotFoundException: com.pododdle.dao.CategoryListService 

Я посмотрел на это, и он был прав! Два файла jar, которые я имел на моем builpath, были таинственно отсутствуют! Они были:

jersey-media-multipart-2.21.1.jar 
mimepull-1.9.3.jar 

Я понятия не имею, как файлы фляга были удалены из/Lib каталога GlassFish сервера, может быть, я не должен был пьян, что дополнительная бутылка виски. Как только они были добавлены обратно, все внезапно сработало. Немного сбитая с толку ошибка - я бы подумал, что это даст ошибку компиляции, если банка не была доступна. Во всяком случае, 5 дней потеряно из-за другой досадной ошибки.

Убедитесь, что после очистки проекта, что папка dist (сборка) пуста. если нет, удалите его содержимое вручную. Также проверьте, что папка библиотек имеет все необходимые библиотеки для всех слоев проекта, а путь к классу IDE задан правильно. Также проверьте папку библиотек для дублированных банок. если вы найдете их удалить вручную, перезапустите сервер и очистите и снова создайте проект. Это сработало.
