есть ли способ встраивать цвет HTML для каждой строки, например , как сделать его зависимым от mod (rownum/2) - четным/нечетным номером строки?

Я не думаю, что есть, используя SET MARKUP HTML ON. Вы должны написать свое собственную разметку что-то вроде:

Существует отличное решение с CSS 3 (экспертный веб-разработчик Леон Зингер). Перед установкой разметки HTML на, внутри головки тега, распечатайте это:

(очевидно, цвет может быть настроен в соответствии с вашими потребностями)
